Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design landing pages, product pages, banners and other web assets to support ecommerce and marketing initiatives
  • Develop code modules to support new B2B Ordering Platform
  • Modify and maintain existing websites for Elegant Gifts and other web properties
  • Liaison with internal clients and our Ecommerce Department on content, design, and updates
  • Communicate design ideas through wireframes and mockups
  • Objectively look at created landing pages and web assets from a consumer perspective to enhance user experience
  • Consistently adhere to Elegant Gift’s style and development guidelines
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the manager

Qualifications

  • College diploma in a relevant field such as graphic design, web design, web development.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in an agency/retail/e-Commerce environment an asset
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills
  • Independent work style and self-starter attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to handle rapidly changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with tight-knit team
  • Demonstrated artistic aptitude, exceptional sense of design and attention to detail

Knowledge and experience with:

  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, TypeScript
  • WooCommerce
  • Create RESTful API using Node/C#
  • Adobe Creative Suite with a focus on Photoshop
  • Dreamweaver
  • Ability to edit and create HTML solely in Code View
  • Mac and PC platforms
  • Microsoft Office
  • Front-end web development and responsive design
  • Content Management Systems
  • Graphic design and visual communication

Knowledge of the following would be considered an asset:

  • Retail/eCommerce industry
  • Photography and video products
  • Organic search engine optimization
  • Ability to assemble and write content in a consumer-friendly manner
